Workplace Speaking & Consulting
The Mask is a practical culture framework for human-centered work — creating visible permission for honest connection while protecting choice, privacy, and appropriate boundaries. Will brings it to your organization as a keynote, a launch experience, or a full implementation.
"People do not need fixing. They need space to be human."

The business case
Employees increasingly expect mental-health support at work. Many still do not feel comfortable speaking, do not know how to reach available benefits, or experience work itself as a driver of burnout.

NAMI-Ipsos, 2024
Depression and anxiety account for an estimated 12 billion lost working days and US$1 trillion in lost productivity globally each year. A 2024 Deloitte UK analysis found an average return of roughly £4.70 for every £1 invested across workplace mental-health interventions.
These studies do not prove that any single program causes higher retention or satisfaction. They do show that support, psychological safety, resource awareness, and employee experience move together. The Mask turns those conditions into visible, repeatable practice.

The Mask · four moves
The framework works in sequence. Each move creates the conditions for the next: credible champions, visible permission, repeatable connection, and responsible pathways to help.
Recruit 1–3 trusted champions across functions and levels, with a clear mandate, executive sponsor, and boundaries.
Launch with a company-wide fireside chat that models thoughtful vulnerability from individual contributor to executive.
Create a recurring, facilitated space where people share, listen, and experience that they are not alone.
Equip champions to recognize when support is needed and guide employees to company or community resources.
When people see vulnerability modeled across the hierarchy, the perceived cost of being human falls. When they experience respectful peer connection repeatedly, psychological permission becomes a cultural norm.
Ways to work together
45–60 minutes for all-hands, leadership offsites, or wellness weeks. Lead Unmasked applied to the working day — what the mask costs teams, and what changes when leaders set it down.
I design and host the launch moment: panel selection, speaker briefing, conversation architecture, and live facilitation that keeps sharing voluntary, bounded, and rehearsed.
A tailored 90-day rollout: champion selection and training, charter and guardrails, meeting cadence, referral pathways, and measures that fit your workforce.

The aim is not to maximize personal sharing. We track whether the environment feels safer, more useful, and more connected — with anonymous pulse feedback, aggregate reporting only, and no identifiable health information.
Clear boundaries are what make the work safe. Champions are connectors, not clinicians.
The framework is adapted with your local People, legal, privacy, accessibility, and qualified clinical guidance. Participation never affects employment decisions.

FAQ
We begin with a brief discovery call to understand your workforce, culture goals, and event context. From there I propose a format — keynote, fireside chat, or full implementation — along with a timeline, champion structure, and success measures. Most engagements are scoped within one week and confirmed with a simple agreement.
Keynotes and fireside chats can often be scheduled 4–8 weeks out. Full 90-day implementation consulting is best launched 2–3 months ahead of your target launch date so we have time to recruit champions, design the charter, and prepare speakers. Annual programs and conference keynotes typically book 3–6 months in advance.
Three core formats. A keynote is 45–60 minutes for all-hands, offsites, or wellness weeks — high energy, story-driven, and practical. A fireside chat is a designed, facilitated panel conversation that launches the framework with visible leadership participation. Implementation consulting is a 90-day rollout with champion training, recurring sessions, and measurement support.
Yes. Every engagement is adapted to your industry, workforce demographics, benefits landscape, and existing mental-health resources. The framework stays the same, but the examples, language, referral pathways, and measures are co-designed with your People team and any clinical or legal partners you already trust.
We measure environmental health, not personal disclosure. Anonymous pulse feedback tracks felt permission to discuss mental health, sense of connection, and confidence in manager support. Implementation clients also review champion capability, resource awareness, and aggregate participation signals. No identifiable health information is collected or reported.
Absolutely. Keynotes and fireside chats translate well to virtual and hybrid delivery when the platform, moderation, and speaker prep are designed for it. Implementation consulting is often a blend of virtual champion training and in-person launch events.
No. The Mask framework creates peer connection, visible permission, and trusted pathways to professional support. Champions are trained connectors, not clinicians. We partner with your existing benefits, EAP, and qualified mental-health providers, and we never diagnose, treat, or handle crisis situations.
